PaycheckHub

About PaycheckHub

Free calculators. Honest estimates. No paywalls.

PaycheckHub is a free collection of paycheck and tax calculators covering all 50 US states. We built it because understanding your take-home pay should not require a spreadsheet, a subscription, or a leap of faith.

What We Do

  • Paycheck calculator — federal + FICA + state withholding for any salary, pay period, and filing status (2025 IRS brackets).
  • Quarterly tax estimator — for freelancers and self-employed filers.
  • RSU & capital gains calculators — stock compensation and investment taxes, short vs. long term.
  • Tip pooling, overtime (California), and 50/30/20 budgeting — built with the same server-side engine philosophy.
  • PDF paystubs & Excel exports — one click, no sign-up required for the basics.

How Calculations Work

Every computation runs server-side. You submit your inputs; our engines apply the 2025 federal brackets, FICA rules, and modeled state rates, then return a breakdown. No formula is hidden in client JavaScript that can be tampered with, and we validate every input with zod before computing.

We also publish plain-English explanations on each tool page (How It Works + FAQ with JSON-LD), so you can sanity-check the math.

Why Free?

PaycheckHub runs on a 100% free stack and is supported by non-intrusive display ads (Google AdSense). There are no premium tiers and no feature paywalls — the same engines power every visitor. If ads are blocked, everything still works.

Our Principles

  • Minimize data collection — we do not sell personal data and we hash audit identifiers.
  • Be explicit about limits — every tool page carries the notice: Not tax advice — for estimation only.
  • Stay current — federal tables are synced from IRS Publication 15-T on a schedule (scripts/sync-tax-tables.mjs), with status visible at /api/tax-tables/status.
  • Build in the open — pay stub and workbook generation is server-rendered and auditable.

Not Affiliated with the IRS

PaycheckHub is independently built and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service or any government agency. For official guidance, visit irs.gov and your state Department of Revenue.
